How this works
  • Saju (사주) turns your birth date and time into eight characters. Each carries one of the Five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. Without a birth time we count six.
  • Korean naming houses look for the element your chart lacks and choose Hanja that carry it. We use each character's radical (자원오행) — for example 氵 for Water, 木 for Wood.
  • The first syllable carries the missing element. The second carries it too, or the element that feeds it.
  • When elements tie, the one that feeds your Day Master comes first, then Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. This simplifies a naming master's judgment (용신) — it is for fun.
  • Sounds follow the 운해본 system most namers use: ㄱㅋ Wood · ㄴㄷㄹㅌ Fire · ㅇㅎ Earth · ㅅㅈㅊ Metal · ㅁㅂㅍ Water. The older 훈민정음 해례본 swaps ㅇㅎ and ㅁㅂ. We avoid neighboring sounds that clash.
  • Every Hanja is on Korea's list of characters allowed in personal names (checked against Unicode Unihan data). Romanization follows the official Revised Romanization; family names use their usual spellings (Kim, Lee, Park…).
  • We skip names that belong to well-known Koreans, and the same birthday always gives the same three names.
